1. Special Session: "Future of Coastal Management"

Objective of this session is to discuss the future of Integrated Coastal Zone Management, explore future co-operation and funding possibilities as well as discuss suitable structural frameworks and organisation structures. Further, aim is to analyse how ICZM elements and tools (like the stepwise Systems Approach Framework (SAF), ecosystem service assessments, sustainability indicator applications or public participation tools) can be embedded into EU environmental policies and support the work of major organisations.    

Spatial focus: The Baltic and the European context.

Participation: Open to all interested persons, independent of an EuroLag 8 conference registration. The session will be hosted by the BONUS BaltCoast project.

Structure: Participants have the possibility together with invited experts, to give brief oral statements of max. 3-5 minutes (using one Powerpoint-slide) addressing the objectives mentioned above. The statements, slides and the discussion will be compiled into minutes, that will be publicly available and can serve as input for the EuroLag 8 discussion on ‘Lagoon Networks & Future Projects’ on Friday 23/03 at 15:30.
